WHO said there is nothing on in a small town? Big names in Aussie music are coming to Moranbah for the annual 4U2 Charity Concert.

Rockhampton folk duo Busby Marou, pub rock legend Shannon Noll and reunited rock band Taxiride, one of Australia's biggest musical exports of the 1990s, will take to the stage in support of the RACQ CQ Rescue helicopter and the Royal Brisbane Women's Hospital Foundation.

Taxiride singer Tim Watson is looking forward to visiting Moranbah.

"It is our first time in Moranbah, we have done all the coastal cities in Queensland, we are looking forward to it,” Watson said.

He said Queensland was great for the "probably better than at home'' fan base and the warm weather compared to Melbourne.

The humid air was also nicer for the singing voice, he said.

The band gained worldwide success in the late '90s with hit singles such as Get Set, Everywhere You Go and Creepin' Up Slowly. The "usual rock'n'roll story'', as Watson called it, saw the band separate for some time but after deciding to "bury a few hatches'' they got back together in 2015.

"We sat down over coffees and chatted a few things out and we let the old stuff go, being older and wiser,” Watson said. Fans are left guessing if they can look forward to new music from the band. "It is not no and not yes,” Watson said.

For now the group enjoys playing together again.

"I think we play a bit better now. We have all improved and we are less distracted,” Watson said.

"We take more pride in the musicianship and professionalism.”

Old fans have proven loyal to the band and there have been some nice stories bumping into old fans from around the world.

"A couple from Seattle in America travelled to Australia to see a show. They had our original promo shirt from America,” Watson said.

"They came from Seattle to check out one of our shows and we were absolutely wrapped.”

In another instance a girl who at 12 was too young to see the band play came to a show in her late twenties.
