A Mackay region family has experienced gut-wrenching loss just weeks before Christmas after their four-year-old little girl drowned in a pool.
Loved ones are preparing to say their heartbreaking goodbyes to Baylee-May Leeson, better known as Buggy, at a funeral service on Friday where everyone is encouraged to wear pink or bright colours.
Little Buggy had been at a home in Kuttabul when the tragedy occurred in the afternoon on December 7.
Paramedics were called to the address about 4.45pm.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesman said a child was treated for life threatening injuries.
Tragically Baylee-May did not survive.
It is understood it did not happen at the family home.
The close-knit Pioneer Valley community has thrown its arms around her grieving parents Teegan Paul and Taylor Leeson and three older siblings, of Gargett, as they go through every family’s worst nightmare.
Messages of love, support, thoughts and prayers are going out for them.
“Sending love, strength and healing hugs. Our hearts are breaking for you Teegs and Taylor and all of the Paul family,” one supporter wrote.
“All our love and strength to you all in this extremely sad time. May you rest easy beautiful girl. Forever 4,” wrote another.
Others have called the tragedy “too unbearable to comprehend”

Baylee-May’s celebration of life will be held on Friday afternoon at Newhaven Chapel and those who attend are asked to wear pink or bright colours in her memory.
