EACH month, North Eton State School staff decide which of their students is worthy of an ‘Aussie of the Month Award’.
Principal Geraldine Parkes said winners are chosen based on four values of inclusion, fair go, mateship and respect.

“It is part of a program that is run by the Australian Government Deaprtment of Home Affairs and each month one of our students is recognised for their good citizenship, personal endeavour and/or achievement,” Ms Parks said.

Student Latisha Miskin was the school’s April awardee for being a “friend to all”, consistently demonstrating inclusion and accepting and respecting all differences, Ms Parkes said.
“She was so excited, she had a great big smile on her face and did a few dance steps on her way to receive the award,” she said.
Latisha was given a certificate, badge and small stationary pack on parade.
