A man police found hiding in bushland near the scene of an Alligator Creek crash was taken to hospital with injuries.

The dog squad was deployed to track the 28 year old police suspect was the driver of the vehicle.

Emergency crews were called to the scene at the intersection of Grasstree Rd and Hay Point Rs about 9pm Saturday when a red Holden Commodore crashed into a guard rail.

Police swarmed the area and the dog squad unit was called in, finding the man in nearby bushland.

Paramedics took the man to Mackay Base Hospital in a stable condition.

A police spokeswoman said investigations were continuing including into whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.

A second unrelated single-vehicle crash landed a 17-year-old woman in hospital.

The police spokeswoman said the teenager crashed into a palm tree about 10.15pm Saturday in Andergrove.

The palm tree was located on a traffic island on Glenpark St.

The teenager was taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a stable condition with no serious injuries.
