A multi-vehicle crash on the M1/Pacific Mwy caused lengthy delays Monday afternoon after all northbound lanes were closed at the scene for about an hour.

Commuters northbound faced delays of more than 30 minutes at one point after a truck and SUV towing a caravan crashed, causing the SUV to roll at Beenleigh just after 3pm.

Police closed all northbound lanes at the scene, near Exit 34, but reopened them by 4.15pm.

There were heavy delays from the scene back to Ormeau for northbound lanes at 4pm, with southbound lanes also showing minor delays at the time and traffic on the Logan Motorway showing delays eastbound to the M1.

Queensland Police Service had earlier urged drivers to avoid the area but said the scene was clear by 4.15pm.

Paramedics assessed two adults and two children on scene.

Queensland Ambulance Service later confirmed four patients were taken to Logan Hospital and one to the PA Hospital, all in a stable condition.

Meanwhile, a crash on the M1 at Burpengary was also causing traffic delays for both southbound and northbound lanes.
