M1 and Inner city crashes cause early morning traffic mayhem
Two separate crashes brought the M1 and Brisbane’s Inner City Bypass to complete standstills on Wednesday morning.

Highway traffic south of Brisbane was brought to a standstill on Wednesday morning after a multi-vehicle crash on the M1 and another earlier crash in Brisbane City.
Emergency services, including police and paramedics were called to assist following a crash on the M1 southbound at Ormeau and at Hale St, Petrie Terrace.
M1 southbound lanes were brought to a complete standstill for over an hour, before being given the all clear just before 8.30am.

A man in his 20s was transported in a stable condition with minor head and arm injuries to the Gold Coast University Hospital.
Meanwhile, inner city commuters travelling along the Inner City Bypass slogged through a 45 minute wait, with the Petrie Terrace crash backing traffic all the way to Bowen Hills and Herston.
No medical services were required and the crash was cleared before 8.15am, though traffic remained slow throughout the morning.
