Loved ones refuse to give up in hunt for Amy Schulkins

The unexplained disappearance of Amy Schulkins north of Brisbane has resulted in an enormous community search and fundraising effort.

38,000 Aussies are reported missing every year

A desperate community refuses to give up hope of finding a lost mother of five who has been missing for more than two weeks.

Amy Schulkins, 36, a year ago married the love of her life, Rebecca – the pair, with five children between them – would live happily in Caboolture until Amy tragically went missing without a trace.

On the night of December 30, 2020, Amy was seen for the last time when she was captured on CCTV footage driving her white 2001, Nissan Patrol, bearing Queensland number plates 257VTN.

A crowd funded campaign has generated more than $5000 in bid to aid the search for missing Caboolture woman Amy Schulkins.

The video, taken just before midnight on Lower King Street, Caboolture, heading towards the Bruce Highway and Bribie Island interchange, is the last confirmation of Amy’s whereabouts.

With a following of over 21,000 members and the support of Australian celebrities Constance Hall and Em Rusciano, a Facebook page named ‘the search team for Amy Schulkins’, has been set up and is run by Amy’s friends, including Phoenix Smith.

The group of dedicated volunteers, labelled “Amy’s Army”, continue to search for Amy (pictured) at all hours of the day and night, while loved ones and strangers conduct routine patrols long into the night.

The group continues to map all search locations across the state, and distribute thousands of flyers. Ms Smith, who lives in Melbourne and has known Amy for 13 years, said she was overwhelmed with community care after she set the page up as a way to show support from afar.

“The page was set up as a way for any friends and family out there searching to keep in contact with each other,” Ms Smith said.”

“It’s grown so, so quickly and we’re just overwhelmed, really by the sense of community and care that goes towards someone we care so much about.”

They have also set up a GoFundMe account to help fund the search operation for Amy, who friends say has “the most infectious spirit and laugh of anyone.” So far, the page has raised $5,000.

“A lot of people are just really keen to see Any back home with her kids and her wife,” said Ms Smith.” All we can really do is stay focused on the fact that Amy is missing and hope we find her safe.”

The group, along with investigators, is urging anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage of Amy or her car, to contact Policelink on 131444.
