The owner of a car believed to be related to a shooting in Logan Reserve Thursday has been charged with ammunition and drugs offences.

Police conducted a search warrant at a Browns Plains house in the afternoon on May 17 after a car with a family of five inside was shot at on Loganview Rd about 7pm.

Police seized a sedan they believed to be related to the incident.

A 35-year-old Woodridge man, who is the owner of the car, was charged with serious drugs and other offences related to the possession of ammunition.

Police said the vehicle would be the subject of forensic examination in the days to come and no charges have yet been preferred relating directly to the shooting.

The shooting incident happened just minutes before a man was shot in the neck during a violent robbery.

The family was left shaken after a driver allegedly fired a bullet through their car window in the incident, which unfolded on Loganview Rd, about 7pm on Thursday.

Logan CIB Detective Senior Sergeant Nicola Brown alleged an erratic driver pulled a gun on the family of five.

“This particular incident occurred as a result of an altercation between two groups of people due to some erratic driving behaviour,” Detective Brown said.

“Unfortunately that behaviour has escalated into an incident where a man driving a Mitsubishi Lancer fired a shot into the window of the victim’s vehicle.”

A family - three teenagers and two adults - were in the car at the time and have been left shaken.

“We are extremely grateful that none of them are injured.”

Detective Brown alleged the gunman was swerving across the road and throwing hand gestures at the victim’s vehicle before it escalated.

She said gun crime was not tolerated in Queensland

“Any gun crime is a real issue for us. We want to keep the public safe.

“Having unlawful firearms in suburbia is just not tolerated.”

Police are appealing for anyone with CCTV to come forward.

About 40 minutes after that incident, a man was shot in the neck during a robbery also in Logan.

Police will allege a group of people stormed a home on Granger Rd, Park Ridge, about 7.40pm armed with a firearm and demanding property from the male occupant.

During the incident, a 23-year-old Hillcrest man was shot in the neck before the group fled.

He was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene has been declared.

Det Brown said a group of up to five men stormed the property in the targeted attack.

“There were demands for property. There were some small items that were taken,” she said.

“However they didn’t get away with what they intended to go for.”

The offenders then got in a fight with three occupants of the house, which resulted in one being shot in the neck.

Det Brown did not disclose what the men were after, saying police did not yet know the motive of the attack.

“We are really in the early stages of the investigation.

“Once we get to speak to those victims in more detail we should have some more information to provide, however we don’t know what the motive is.”

The group of men fled in a car and police are urging anyone with CCTV to come forward.

Anyone with information, or vision that could assist investigations, is urged to contact police.

Local residents took to social media to share their concern.
