Don’t mess with Lee Carseldine.
The Queensland cricketer-turned-TV personality chased down would-be thieves at his Brisbane home on Saturday after the pair snatched a laptop out of his hands and ran.
It began after the two youths expressed interest in the laptop and arranged to meet the Weekender presenter, who had listed to sell it via Facebook Marketplace.
Security footage mounted to the front of his Brisbane home shows the pair walk up to the white picket fence and appear to snatch the laptop out of Carseldine’s hands as his son watches on from the balcony.
The former Australian Survivor runner-up takes quick action, leaping over the fence and pursuing the alleged offenders on foot.
Despite losing his shoes, the same pair he wore on Survivor, and tearing his hamstring during the pursuit, Carseldine caught up with the duo within a few hundred metres.
“These young kids came up, which I’d arranged to meet them, and literally just snatched it (the laptop) out of my hand and took off,” Carseldine told his social media followers after sharing the footage online.
“Halfway through the run, I was tracking them down and my hammie went massively. But I still managed to gain on them and I gave them an ultimatum to drop it otherwise they’d feel my wrath if I caught them.
“It must have scared them off. I don’t know what that meant but it must have sounded scary.”
Carseldine, who also competed on Survivor All Stars, said the pair dropped the laptop on the grass and continued running.
He has submitted the footage to police and is getting a scan on his injured hamstring on Monday.
“My hammie is absolutely cooked,” he said.
