Kippa-Ring camping store engulfed in fire
A camping store on Brisbane’s northside was engulfed in flames overnight, with 40 firefighters required to bring the suspicious blaze under control. Nearby residents said it “sounded like fireworks going off”.

A CAMPING store was engulfed in flames and took around 40 firefighters to contain the suspicious blaze on Brisbane’s northside overnight.
Emergency services received several triple-0 calls just after midnight reporting the Brisbane Disposal and Camping Store on High Street at Kippa-Ring was “well-involved” in fire.
Fourteen separate fire crews attended the scene, and had the fire contained by around 1:30am this morning.
A spokesman from the Queensland Fire and Emergency Service said a number of gas cylinders inside the store were exploding.
Vikki Norman, owner of Vix Fix, a cafe across the road from the the fire, said she felt terrible for the owner who is a regular customer.
Ms Norman said but for losing their internet connection, their business has been left unscathed.
Ms Norman said the affected business, Brisbane Camping and Disposal, had been there for over 20 years.
Reader Kelly Barnes said the blaze “sounded like fireworks going off.”
No one was injured in the fire.
Police have declared the fire as suspicious and have established a crime scene in the area.
Anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area or why may have CCTV footage is urged to contact police.
