Kane Alexanderson has passed away days after he was allegedly stabbed in a hotel room

A teenager taken to hospital after allegedly being stabbed on Australia Day has passed away in hospital.

KANE Alexanderson, the 18-year-old stabbed during a Brisbane City hotel room brawl on Australia Day, has died in hospital.
The teenager suffered serious chest wounds following a brawl in a hotel on Australia Day.

Police said eight people followed some residents of the building through lobby door of the iStay River City in Albert Street Brisbane about 9.20pm on January 26.

A fight then broke out in a room, leaving Alexanderson and two 17-year-old boys with stab wounds.

Alexanderson was rushed to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition.

The other two teenagers were taken to hospital where one was treated for facial injuries and for wounds to his abdomen and shoulder.

They have both now been released from hospital.

Brisbane City detectives continue to investigate the incident.
