Johnathan Thurston’s daughter has made a sweet tribute to her football royalty father by dressing up as the famous Cowboy for Book Week recently.

In photos shared to social media by Johnathan’s wife, Samantha, eldest daughter Frankie donned the footy boots and socks complete with full cowboys attire.

Of course, Thurston’s iconic Cowboy headgear made an appearance as well.

As if that wasn’t cute enough, Frankie went to great lengths to look like her father by drawing on a moustache and face stubble.

She posed in the photos with a copy of her father’s book JT: The Making of a Total Legend.

Frankie’s siblings also got in on the fun. Charlie dressed up as Harry Potter fan favourite Luna Lovegood, complete with her iconic blonde locks and unique sense of style, while younger daughter, Lillie, embodied a zookeeper from children’s book The Bus to the Zoo by Mary Murphy.

The photos were too cute for many to handle on social media.

“OMG I love them,” wrote one woman.

“So fun – all three. Frankie’s stubble is on point although Daddy looks a little more polished in the photo together,” wrote Kids in Harmony.

Another commenter summed it up best, writing simply: “That's the best!”

The photos were posted on Ms Thurston’s Instagram page to her following of 30 thousand people on Thursday.

The Children’s Book Council of Australia has run a Book Week every year since 1945 that sees “schools and public libraries spend one glorious week celebrating books and Australian children's authors and illustrators.”

This year’s festivities were based on the theme ‘dreaming with eyes open’ and ran August 20-26.
