The head of performing arts at John Paul College in Logan has been stood down after losing his West Australian teaching license for serious misconduct against a former student turned Victoria’s Secret model.

On Saturday, Mr Bobby Gallo had his teaching license in WA suspended for three years for serious misconduct against a student at the prestigious all-girls school Methodist Ladies’ College in Perth.

It has now been revealed he has also been stood down from his position as head of performing arts at John Paul College in Daisy Hill, after college principal Karen Spiller became aware of the WA board’s decision.

“At John Paul College the safety of our students is paramount to all that we do.

“Upon learning of this decision, John Paul College took immediate steps to stand Mr Gallo down while we investigate this matter further,” she said.

Ms Spiller said parents and staff were told of the decision late Saturday night, and were made aware of the reason why.

She said the school isn’t aware of any allegations from current or past JPC students but encouraged anyone with concerns to address her directly.

Mr Gallo had been employed at John Paul College since 2012, and in 2018 lodged a complaint with the Fair Work Commission after he was forced to leave college grounds.

The former head of department started at John Paul College after being director of music at Methodist Ladies’ College in Perth for more than 10 years.

It’s understood the serious misconduct took place between 2007 and 2009 with one of his music students at the Western Australian college.

After his suspension was announced by the Teachers Registration Board of Western Australia, the student was revealed to be former Victoria’s Secret model Bridget Malcolm, 30, who posted a video on her Instagram on Sunday saying she was “still in shock” and still “processing” the situation.

“I am that student,” she said in the video.

“I’ve gone back and forth on whether or not to waive my right to anonymity because I was a minor when it all happened.”

It’s understood the allegations were made to the Board by Malcolm via email in March 2021 which detailed the grooming behaviour through emails, phone calls and texts from 2007 continuing to after she graduated at the end of 2008, according to court documents obtained by the Sydney Morning Herald.

He has now been disqualified from applying for registration as a teacher in Western Australia for a period of three years, but may reapply from August 9, 2025.
