Coachella is back and so is festival fashion.
Brisbane label VRG GRL was given a boost when top model Jasmine Tookes opted for one of their dresses for the opening day of the popular festival, sharing the look with her 5.7 million Instagram followers.
It was an organic gifting initiative with the former Victoria’s Secret model and her stylist Cary Robinson selecting the Joni Crochet Maxi Dress for consideration when they were pulling outfits together for the event, which draws global attention.
The dress retails for $159 and was the most searched item on the VRG GRL website that weekend, while the brand reported a 104 per cent increase in sales of the dress the day Tookes shared it to social media.
VRG GRL was founded in 2007 by Queensland sisters Daniella and Natalia Dionyssio with a focus on affordable clothing and has also been worn by the likes of pop star Ariana Grande.
“It’s always exciting to see icons like Jasmine Tookes in VRG GRL as they show style is not about what you’re wearing, but how you wear it, which is exactly what our brand is all about,” Daniella said.
“We’re constantly striving to inspire women to express themselves through unique and cool pieces and to have the confidence to be their most creative selves – we feel Jasmine has done just that.”
