A Brisbane father has shared his relief after his son was found “safe and well” after going missing for nearly three weeks in Indonesia.
Jackson Parker, 22, last contacted his father Roland Parker on November 8 just before his Bali adventure but had not been heard from since.
Mr Parker flew to the tourist hotspot on Tuesday in a desperate attempt to find his son.
The relieved father told The Courier-Mail after landing in Bali the Jakarta Embassy made contact with Jackson and located his son “safe and well.”
“He is a 22-year-old travelling around Indonesia, I don't know how he lost his passport and he had lost his phone, so communication for him was difficult at the same time we have to thank thousands of people who tried to find him,” Mr Parker said.
Mr Parker said his son would continue to travel despite the debacle.
He said the last few days had been stressful and his advice for parents in similar situations would be to “not give up”.
“Reach out to whomever you can to get support from and you will be surprised at the amount of help that is out there and willing to help any person or child who might be in trouble and missing,” he said.
