A MAN arrested and charged with series of burglary and stealing offences at businesses across Ipswich remains held in custody after facing court on Monday.

Zechariah Joel Mclean, 33, from Tivoli, did not appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court when his case received a brief mention.

He spent the weekend in the watch-house following his arrest by police from the Ipswich District Property Team last Thursday.

Mclean is charged with more than 30 offences including six counts of entering premises with intent; two counts of wilful damage; seven counts of entering premises and steal by break; four counts of stealing; unlawful entry of a motor vehicle at night; attempt to enter premises; two counts of being in possession of dangerous drugs; and five breaches of his bail.

The charges include break and enters at the Ipswich City Council Health, Parks and Recreation office in Nicholas St on May 13; break and enter to the premises of AMP Capital at Milton on May 26; and entering the premises of HVAC in Redbank on April 12.

Police will allege a number of other businesses across Ipswich also fell victim, with a total of 15 different premises involved.

His barrister Peter Sloane told the court Mclean would not be applying for bail. No pleas were indicated.

He said Mclean was in the drug court program and already had matters before a Brisbane court.

Mr Sloane sought that all matters be transferred to a Brisbane court with Legal Aid to represent Mclean.

Magistrate Dennis Kinsella adjourned his case to Brisbane Court 23 for mention on Wednesday.
