A major housing estate in Ipswich’s expanding rural western corridor is up for sale.

Expressions of interest for the purchase of the $350 million Waterlea estate in Walloon, which is about a 15 minute drive from the Ipswich CBD, are now being sought by Ray White.

The masterplan includes 1854 lots, with 1776 of those already approved, across 137 hectares.

The 1393 lots remaining in the master plan are offered for sale.

About 750 people already live in the estate with 332 lots completed and another 129 under construction.

About 6000 people will call Waterlea home once it is complete.

The 1,393 lots remaining in the master plan are offered for sale with potential to increase that number by a further 323 lots, according to Ray White.

The estate also includes an operating child care centre, food and retail building called The Hangar anchored by the popular Phat Boyz Smokehouse & Kitchen and large park and playground built at a cot of $700,000.

Residential blocks sized between 400-800 m2 are available.

About 42,000 people are expected to ultimately live in the rural corridor between Walloon and Rosewood.

It is understood Brisbane Catholic Education is in the process of investigating setting up a new school in the area.

“Waterlea is a community made up of distinct neighbourhood precincts with a relaxed yet vibrant village vibe, centred around a natural creek that will feature a chain of ponds, natural open spaces and a buzzing village heart,” the developer RBG Services stated.

“With the local primary school within walking distance, direct train services to Ipswich and Brisbane from Walloon station, everyday essentials on your doorstep including pub, supermarket and medical centre plus Waterlea’s Village Hub with onsite childcare centre and cafe now open, Waterlea is the perfect choice for those seeking a healthy and happy lifestyle whilst still being close and connected to everything you need.”

Expressions of interest close on August 18.
