Ipswich residents will soon be able to receive the vaccine at new locations across the region following the announcement of several pop up clinics.

It comes as the Premier announced on Tuesday the vaccine mandate would be expanded to people working in “high risk” environments including schools, childcares, airports and prisons.

Staff and volunteers at childcare centres, private and public schools must get the vaccine, to protect children who are ineligible.

People affected by the mandate will be required to have at least one vaccination by December 17 and be fully vaccinated by January 23.

A pop up vaccine clinic is being held at the PA Hotel in Booval on Tuesday from 9am to 1pm.

Upcoming pop up clinics will be held at:

Jets Leagues Club, North Ipswich – 9am to 1pm, Thursday, December 2

Fernvale Community Hall – 9am to 3pm, Friday, December 3 and Saturday, December 4

Ipswich State High School – 8am to 3pm, Sunday, December 5 and Sunday, December 12

Peak Crossing State School – 8.30am to 2.30pm, Sunday, December 12

The West Moreton rural hospitals will also be open one day per fortnight for Covid-19 vaccinations:

Boonah Hospital – 9am to 1pm, Monday, December 13

Esk Hospital – 9am to 1pm, Tuesday, November 30 and Tuesday, December 14

Gatton Hospital – 1pm to 3pm, Thursday, December 2, 16 and 30

Laidley Hospital – 8.30am to 11.30am, Thursday, December 2, 16, and 30

The West Moreton Health Ipswich CBD Community Vaccination Clinic is open seven days a week from 8am to 4pm and until 7pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Families are encouraged to dress for the weather and bring water and snacks for children.

Please do not arrive in the last hour before closing.

As of November 29, 75.3% of Ipswich residents aged 15 and over are fully vaccinated, and 87.3% have received their first dose.
