Truck driver dead after Cunningham Highway crash

A truck driver has died after his vehicle overturned at Ipswich, closing part of a highway for four hours.

A truck driver has died following a crash on the Cunningham Highway at Ipswich Monday morning.

The truck veered off the road and rolled at Deebing Heights about 9.40am, near the Boonah exit of the highway.

According to emergency services, the man suffered critical injuries, with paramedics saying he may have experienced some health issues prior to the crash.

Queensland police later confirmed he had died at the scene.

Police were still investigating the details of the incident.

Both lanes of the Cunningham Highway – westbound near the Boonah exit – were closed until nearly 2pm.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash and will prepare a report for the Coroner.
