IPSWICH band Tiger Street is calling for some local support ahead of this year's Triple Z Hot 100 music poll.
Making the Hot 100 would be an excellent achievement for the local band, which produced its second album, Applewood Lane, in December last year.
A song from the album, Only This, is a strong chance of ranking highly in the the 4ZZZ annual music poll, but will need heaps of votes first.
Guitarist Ken Weaver said the last year had been huge for the band.
"We have had heaps of radio play, which we are very grateful for," Weaver said.
"We've been on about 15 different stations and this week we are on a compilation that is coming out of America.
"Next year is going to be even bigger I think; we are in the middle of recording new songs and we are booked for the Ipswich Jazz, Wine and Blues in April."
The band, which features Weaver, Christopher Andrews, Kate Den Otter, Nina Florence, Cameron Logan, Sarah Rae Meharg and Christopher Thomas, is also working on an avant garde piece called Natural Industrialism for the 2016 Ipswich Festival.
Using an original musical score created from everyday sounds found in Bell Street, Ipswich, as well as non-traditional instruments and voice, Tiger Street will create a visual and musical performance that explores the contradiction that exists in the term 'Natural Industrialism' and their personal concerns about the current and future state of the environment, society and local community.
Guitarist Ken Weaver said that voters did not have to be 4ZZZ subscribers in order to give Tiger Street the tick in the music poll.
"Doing well in the Hot 100 would give us great exposure," he said.
"It would enable us to do more festival gigs."
To vote, visit the 4ZZZ website at http://www.4zzzfm.org.au/hot100. Voting closes midnight on Christmas Day. The Hot 100 will be broadcast from noon on New Year's Day.
