An Ipswich teenager has been rushed to hospital following a suspected snake bite to the foot.
The girl was reportedly bitten about 1.40am Friday while at a Redbank Plains home.
She was transported to Ipswich Hospital in a stable condition.
The incident comes after a highly-venomous brown snake attacked two staffies at a Deebing Heights home last month.
Parks and bushland around the Deebing Heights home were said at the time to have been “breeding grounds” for snakes, with the slithering reptiles “everywhere”.
The species of the snake that bit the Ipswich teenanger on Friday is yet to be confirmed.
Queensland Ambulance Service responded to 56 snake bites in September this year with five of those reported in West Moreton.
