AFTER beating competition leaders Wynnum, the Springfield Hawks are looking to continue their march towards a finals spot against Everton Park this weekend.
Their upset win against Wynnum has inspired a new-found belief they can beat anyone in the competition.
It's a belief they'll need with three of their four remaining games against teams above them on the ladder.
Hawks coach Jeremy Clark the performance against Wynnum showed at their best Springfield could be a title threat.
"It was probably one of the better games we've had in the last two to three years," he said.
"Everything seemed to click and it came together on the day."
The Hawks will travel to Everton Park tomorrow.
With the Everton Park Roosters five points ahead of the Hawks a win will see Springfield close the gap on the top four.
He said the team was starting to come good after an up and down season.
"We're starting to come right at the right end of the season I feel. But we've got to be more consistent.
"The first round we haven't really done too well, so it's a hard thing to come back from."
"If we keep winning we've given ourselves a chance, which I don't like because we've taken so long to switch on, but at the end of the day it's going to be a good finish."
The club has struggled to maintain a consistent roster in recent years and Clark is trying to change that by encouraging players to stay on.
He said the team at the moment was the best the Hawks had ever fielded.
"To be honest this is probably the best or the strongest players we've had in the club, and I've been involved in the club since day one," he said.
"As long as you've got a good environment in the club everyone will stay and it will attract more players. As long as everyone's enjoying footy then you're going to go good."
Clark said the Hawks second division team was also providing a strong base for the club.
The Pegg Cup Hawks are also in a fight for a finals spot. They are currently in fourth spot but just two points ahead of Redlands.
