Pedestrian killed in Warrego Highway, Bundamba incident

The Warrego Highway at Ipswich is expected to remain closed until late afternoon following a fatal incident involving a pedestrian.

Westbound lanes of the Warrego Highway at Ipswich remain closed after a pedestrian was hit by a truck.

A police spokeswoman said the person, whose identity is yet to be made public, died at the scene.

Police are yet to confirm the identity of the victim.

An ambulance spokeswoman said paramedics arrived at the crash, on the Warrego Highway at Bundamba, after being alerted of the incident at 11.53am.

The Warrego Highway was closed westbound after Ashburn Rd, and was expected to remain so for several hours as police continued their forensic crash investigations.

Truck drivers were advised to avoid the highway until at least 4pm Wednesday.

The Warrego Highway off-ramp from the Ipswich Motorway was also closed, with traffic diverted along Brisbane Rd or the Cunningham Highway.
