Riverview electric scooter crash: Kallangur man in critical condition after incident on Verrall and McEwan streets in Ipswich

A 67-year-old man has been rushed to a Brisbane hospital after members of the public found him lying on the road with serious head injuries.

A Moreton Bay man is fighting for his life in hospital after he crashed while riding an electric scooter in Ipswich on Tuesday night.

The 67-year-old from Kallangur was found by members of the public lying on the corner of Verrall and McEwan streets in Riverview next to an e-scooter just after 7.30pm.

Paramedics rushed the man to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition after he suffered a serious head injury in the incident.

A Queensland Police spokeswoman said the Forensic Crash Unit is investigating to determine the cause of the crash.

It is unclear at this stage whether another vehicle or person was involved.

The location of the crash is near the Riverview train station.

“They are in the process of their investigation to determine exactly what’s occurred,” the spokeswoman said.

“He was located by members of the public lying on the roadway next to an e-scooter.

“Police and an ambulance were called.”
