Hanson wants $2.15m for homestead

THE house that Hanson built is now officially on the open market for $2.15 million.

THE house that Hanson built is now officially on the open market for $2.15 million.

The 60-hectare Coleyville property was listed this month after four prospective buyers failed to return sale-by-tender documents in March.

Exclusive listing agent and LJ Hooker Yamanto principal Keith Edwards yesterday admitted “it could take some time” to sell the rural property.

“There would be a number of people in Ipswich who could afford that sort of money, but it’s a bit of a tough market at the moment,” he said.

“We’ve had a steady stream of enquiries from people across Queensland, but nothing that has been concrete.

“Pauline is still living in the home and she’s happy to be there until it sells. She’s in no rush.”

The 15-year-old architecturally designed home dubbed “Serendipity” has three separate wings and features a pool, eight-foot-wide verandas, raked cypress pine ceilings and polished pine floors.

Mr Edwards said it was the ideal home for a growing family that wanted to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.

“The main selling point is lifestyle. This is for people who want a change of pace,” Mr Edwards said.

“It’s a unique property and it’s for someone who wants to do something a bit different in a country atmosphere.

“Coleyville is quiet and peaceful and provides a lot of privacy away from the city.”

Just 25 minutes from the Ipswich CBD, Coleyville is a small town bordered by Warrill View and Mt Walker.
