After a recent change in ownership, construction of a new shopping centre in Springfield Lakes will soon be underway.

Springfield Grande, formally Springfield Lakes Shopping Village, will be located at 11 Grande Avenue in Springfield Lakes.

Limbada Group secured the development project after the previous owner, Taree Property went into voluntary liquidation.

Leasing Agent David Anderson said the new owners were looking to forge ahead with the approved plans for the centre, with hopes to kick off construction in about four months time.

At this stage, Mr Anderson said residents could expect to see Springfield Grande opening its doors to the public in early 2025.

The centre will be located just three and a half kilometres away from the booming Orion Shopping Centre in Springfield Central.

Mr Anderson said the new centre would to cater to rising demand from the nearby Aveo retirement living, along with ongoing expansion out at Springfield Rise and Greenbank Arterial.

The current plans for Springfield Grande include a Drakes Supermarket, 7/11, Snap Fitness, Yiros Shop, Sushi Hyo and JAX Tyres Auto.

Mr Anderson said there would also be a pharmacy, bottle shop, laundromat, kebab shop, bakery.

Plans for an auxiliary childcare centre are also still in the works.

Mr Anderson said the search was now on for “some of the little ones [shops] that just make a centre”.

They are currently on the hunt for the perfect cafe, fish and chips shop, burger joint, and a Mexican, Thai or Italian restaurant.
