An 115-lot housing estate project approved by Ipswich City Council a decade ago has gone on the market in the first sign in years that work might finally begin.
The 8.08ha land at 42A Bognuda St in Bundamba was listed for sale last Thursday, three months after land owner and developer Qartaba Homes received an approval from the Ipswich City Council to extend the development period.
The current council decision for the development is effective until September 8, 2026.
The location was first proposed as part of the larger Citiswich Estate, which was granted a permit to reconfigure the existing two lots into 115 lots back in 2013.
But the site was sold the following year to the current owner for $4.4 million.
The developer had planned 115 homes at the estate, to be called Qatarba Hills View.
Lots would range from 400 sqm to 870 sqm.
But construction never began despite the approval.
Qartaba Homes was contacted for comment.
The land is currently for sale via The Urban Land director Jagdeep Singh.
“We won’t be holding an auction for this site,” he said.
“Instead, we’re inviting offers and the best offer received will be considered.
“It’s worth noting that this site has approval for 115 residential lots.
“Given the current housing shortage in Queensland, this presents an excellent opportunity for any developer looking for a promising project.”
