Nearly 80 houses were at risk of losing power after a tree fell into power lines at an Ipswich neighbourhood.
A Queensland Fire and Rescue crew was called to Frangipanni St in Bellbird Park about 4.30am on Friday morning to assist Energex.
A QFR spokeswoman said the tree caused two power lines to touch, causing sparks.
“Two lines were touching and arcing,” she said.
“So we went out to assist.”
Across several Bellbird Park streets, 76 houses lost power according to the Energex outage map.
Streets affected include Frangipanni St, Jayvilla Ct, Oak St, Redbank Plains Rd and Woods Ct.
An Energex spokesman later confirmed a tree fell on a power line at a private property, causing the address to lose electricity.
He said power had been restored.
