Police raid Bandidos’ Ipswich Chapter, charging six with hundreds of drug crimes

After an intense six-month police operation targeting bikie organised crime, members of the Bandidos’ Ipswich Chapter were charged with drug crimes - including the club’s local president.
A Queensland Police spokeswoman said the state’s Organised Crime Gangs task force Maxima arrested 11 people with links to the Bandidos OMCG, which resulted in the seizing $520,850 worth of drugs, guns, and $38,825 cash.
“The operation was established in June 2021 with the assistance from the Australian Border Force into the importation, production and trafficking of dangerous drugs linked to the Bandidos OMCG,” she said.
“During the operation closure, police seized a large quantity of Diazepam and pharmaceutical tablets, along with various quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine, MDMA, LSD, steroids, cannabis, and cannabis plants and seeds.
“Weapons, including two shotgun firearms, tasers, knuckle dusters and ammunition… were also seized.”
The raids were carried out across the south east although of the 11 people charged, six were from the Ipswich District.
The President of the Bandidos Ipswich chapter, a 41-year-old Tivoli man, was charged and pleaded guilty at court to three charges of possessing a drug utensil.
A 22-year-old North Booval man with links to the Bandidos Ipswich chapter was charged with producing and possessing drugs, and possessing drug utensils and property.
Two men from East Ipswich, a 44 Bandidos member and 39-year-old Bandidos associate were charged with drug possession.
Although an Ipswich couple from Gailes with links to the chapter were charged with hundreds of serious drug charges.
Jonathan Daniel Fuenzalida, 24, and Isabella Ellen Elizabeth Ward, 21, are alleged to be involved in a major drug dealing operation.
Mr Fuenzalida fronted court on 119 charges which included 95 supply charges, five trafficking charges, as well as weapon charges and threatening a police officer or someone helping a police officer.
The co-accused woman, Ms Ward was charged with 104 crimes of a similar nature which included 85 supply charges and six drug trafficking charges.
The Ipswich Magistrate Court heard the Crown was ready to proceed with the case and full briefs of evidence had been submitted.
The pair will next face court on February 2, 2021, and remain on bail.
Detective Inspector Damien Hansen of the Organised Crime Gangs Group speaking generally said disrupting criminal gangs was essential to keeping the community safe.
“Removing drugs from the community and firearms and cash out of the hands of gang members is a significant result and we will continue taking all available action to target and dismantle these gangs,” Inspector Hansen said.

1 x Unlawful Supply of Weapons
1 x Unauthorised sale of Explosives
He will appear at the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on January 21.
· An 18-year-old Burpengary East man with links to the Bandidos Ipswich chapter was been charged with:
1 x Possessing Dangerous Drugs (exceed schedule – cocaine)

1 x Possess Shortened Firearms
2 x Posses Things used in DMA offence
1 x Receiving tainted property (firearms)
1 x Possessing Property Suspected
3 x Authority required to possess explosives
1 x Unlawful Possession of Weapons (shotgun & centre fire rifle)
1 x Unlawful Possession of Weapons (break action shotgun and centre fire rifle)
1 x Possess Utensils
2 x Supplying Dangerous Drugs
The teen will front Redcliffe Magistrates Court on January 19.
· A 44-year-old Godwin Beach woman and confirmed associate of the Bandidos Sunshine Chapter was been charged with:

2 x Possessing Dangerous Drugs
1 x Possessing anything used in the commission of crime defined in Part 2
1 x Possessing anything used in the commission of crime defined in Part 2
1 x Unlawful possession of weapons
3 x Possess Utensils
The woman will appear at the Caboolture Magistrates Court on February 2.
· A 39-year-old Toowong woman, and associate of the Bandidos Ipswich Chapter was charged with fraud.
A warrant was issued for her arrest after she failed to appear at Brisbane Magistrates Court.
· A 19-year-old Woody Point man and confirmed associate of the Bandidos Ipswich chapter was been charged with:

1 x Possess anything used in the commission of crime defined in Part 2
1 x Possess Utensils
The teen pleaded guilty at the Redcliffe Magistrates Court.
