A fire has been described as “definitely non-suspicious”, according to police, after a blaze was extinguished at an Ipswich home.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said a fire reported on Saturday morning appeared to have been sparked by accident.

“It looks like one of the kids had been playing with a lighter,” the Police spokesman said.

Firefighters were sent to the home after receiving reports of a garage fire at a private property in Redbank.

A Queensland Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said the fire was under control quickly and was extinguished by 9am.

“We were out there at 8.30am … and (once extinguished) handed it back to the owners,” the spokeswoman said.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics were called to the scene and remained on standby while fireys battled the blaze.

She said everyone home at the time had already escaped the building when emergency services arrived.

“Nobody was injured,” she said.

‘Everyone was already out of the house when we got there.”
