Springfield Lakes man charged over alleged shopping centre sexual assault
A man has been charged by police over an allegedly brazen assault in Springfield Central earlier this month.

Police have charged a 25-year-old man after an alleged assault at a popular shopping precinct in Springfield Central.
Earlier this month a 20-year-old woman was walking along Main Street towards the Orion Shopping Centre at approximately 7pm on April 1, when a man approached her and allegedly tried to drag her into the bushes.
Investigations by police indicated that several bystanders intervened and the man was scared off.
Police at the time urged those bystanders and any other witnesses to come forward with information about the assault.
A search warrant was executed at an address in Springfield Lakes yesterday and a 25-year-old man was arrested and charged with sexual assault.
The man was refused bail and was set to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court earlier today.
