Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorbike rider was seriously injured in a crash at Silkstone in Ipswich yesterday, February 6.
Early investigations indicated a black Yamaha cruiser-style motorbike was heading east along Blackstone Rd just before midday when a silver Hyundai Elantra turned from Alice St.
The car and the motorbike collided.
The rider, a 55-year-old Silkstone man, was seriously injured and was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the car, a 42-year-old North Booval man, was not injured.
Blackstone Rd was closed for more than an hour after the incident, between South Station Rd and Creek St, with diversions in place.
At the time, a police spokesman said forensic investigators were on scene investigating the circumstances of the crash.
Police have now asked witnesses to contact them, particularly anyone with CCTV or dashcam vision of the motorbike or Hyundai Elantra just before the incident.
Forensic Crash Unit investigations were continuing.
It was understood the rider remained in hospital but was now in a stable condition.
