NAMED: Kitchel Kevin Shillingsworth court mention after partner found dead in Leichhardt

An Ipswich man accused of murder after his de facto partner was found dead at their home on Monday has had his matter mentioned in court this morning.

An Ipswich man accused of murder after his de facto partner was found dead at their home on Monday has had his matter mentioned in court this morning, July 16.

Kitchel Kevin Shillingsworth was charged after his de facto partner Kierra-lea Jensen was found dead at her home on Monday morning.

Shillingsworth, 36, unemployed, of Leichhardt, has been charged with one count of murder (domestic violence offence) and one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle.

His lawyer Paddy O’Donnell made no bail application for his client, who did not appear in person or via videolink.

Mr O’Donnell also requested that his client’s appearance be excused at his next court proceedings.

Acting magistrate Paul Byrne adjourned the matter to August 23 for committal mention in Ipswich Magistrates Court.
