A young Ipswich woman has faced court after stealing more than $1500-worth of goods from Toombul Shopping Centre.

Adina Marie Robinson, 21, pleaded guilty in Ipswich Magistrate’s Court on July 22 to three counts of stealing.

The court heard that on November 25, 2021, Robinson stole $1477.50 of clothes and fragrances from Kmart.

She stole a further $92.25 worth of goods from Coles Toombul on the same day – including a set of earphones, two cables and three car fresheners.

Robinson was further charged with stealing $35-worth of food from a Dinmore 7-Eleven on February 17, 2022.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Chris O’Neill noted that Robinson’s offending was particularly serious as she stole a significant amount of non-essential items – potentially with the intention of reselling them.

Defence lawyer Kevin Rose said Robinson had suffered significant trauma as a child, and since struggled with mental health issues and drug addiction.

Robinson’s criminal history includes a 2019 probation order for possession of dangerous drugs, stealing and failing to appear.

Mr Rose said Robinson had been making good progress with the Courtlink program since her most recent offences and that she had not used drugs for the past year.

Magistrate Andy Cridland sentenced Robinson to 18 months of probation and ordered she pay restitution of $35 to 7-Eleven Dinmore.
