A Brisbane doctor charged with manslaughter has made an appearance in court today, as a subpoena was issued to a major hospital west of Brisbane.
Dr Robyn Mary James, 64 of Wooloowin, stands charged with one count of manslaughter.
Court documents reveal the manslaughter is alleged to have occurred in Ipswich between June 1 and December 28, 2017.
Dr James appeared in Ipswich Magistrates Court on July 14, 2023, for the matter’s mention.
The court heard a subpoena had been issued earlier this month to West Moreton Health’s Ipswich Hospital in relation to the matter.
Crown prosecutor Ashleigh Wakefield said some crucial evidence in the case was still outstanding, including medical records from health practitioners.
Wakefield said it was a “very complex” matter and that there had been delays due to issues with the medical records.
The matter was adjourned to August 4, 2023, for further mention.
Dr James was allowed to leave freely on bail.
