An Ipswich woman, who fraudulently took $1.4 million from a Queensland fishing publication, is yet to be sentenced more than eight years since being charged after being rushed to hospital before facing court.

Brassall’s Robyn Lorraine Lawrie, 49, was due to face Beenleigh District Court on December 15, after pleading guilty to six counts of fraud.

Ms Lawrie pleaded guilty to fraud after stealing $1.4 million from Queensland Fishing Monthly, where she was formerly a director of the company.

But her lawyer, Craig Eberhardt, told court Ms Lawrie was taken to the emergency department at St Andrew’s Hospital in Ipswich and was treated for a cardiac arrest.

Mr Eberhardt said the matter had been repeatedly adjourned for some time.

“I know this matter has been dragging on, your honour,” he said.

Ms Lawrie was scheduled to reappear in Beenleigh District Court on January 19, 2023 for sentence.

Her bail was enlarged.
