RESEARCH conducted by Carew Lawyers has confirmed what many Ipswich motorists have long suspected; that Pine St, north of the CBD, is a traffic crash hotspot.
According to the data, there are three major risk zones along Pine St where motorists are coming to grief: the David Trumpy Bridge, the Terrace roundabout and the infamous Delacy St intersection.
Ipswich has seen a rise in head on collisions over the past four years, although hospitalisations and fatalities are lower than the rest of Queensland.
Carew Lawyers went as far as to say that Pine St has been found to be the most dangerous road in the entirety of Queensland, "with almost double the number of crashes of any other one location in the state".
The Niemeyer Rd T-junction on the Warrego Highway at Hatton Vale was also identified as a high risk area.
