COUNCILLOR Kerry Silver responded to those contributors who questioned her attitude to the expansion of the New Chum dump (QT 08/01).
She acknowleded: "The council also has a formal decision-making process under which I will be consulted before any final decision is made."
Given this acknowledgement, if a final decision to approve expansion is made within the planning department rather than by planning committee or by the full council, voters can rightly assume that Cr Silver therefore agrees with the expansion.
Voters can then determine from her the basis of this agreement and then make up their own mind whether or not this constitutes "representing the community".
