JUST when you thought fast food couldn't possibly get any faster.
It's a credit to the multi-tasking abilities of the young people who work at McDonald's that they can somehow manage to co-ordinate the orders from not one, but two lanes of very eager fast food drive-through customers.
Having become accustomed to the single lane system, I must admit that on many occasions I could really feel those pounds just falling off me as I sat idle in the car, wasting precious minutes without a huge burger in my mouth.
More recently, I've also had the pleasure of utilising one of these whiz bang dual-lane MrDrive-throughs outside of Ipswich.
When I first came across the new set-up, I thought it was going to end up like one of those Scalextric slot car sets where the two tracks cross paths and carnage ensues - but this was far from the case.
All I can say is that I am in awe of how quickly and how efficiently they can make it happen.
Maybe we should get these kids working for the Australian Bureau of Statistics?
