Gun-makers complicit in deaths of innocents

THOSE who value tolerance in our society should take extreme umbrage at the opinions expressed in Robert McBeath's recent letter

Tone of Aus Day letter 'repugnant'

THOSE who value tolerance and the diversity of views in our society should take extreme umbrage at the opinions that were expressed in Robert McBeath's recent letter about the celebration of Australia Day (QT 23/01).

Mr McBeath, just because someone disagrees with your idea of how January 26 should be celebrated does not mean that they "want to rip the heart and soul right out of what made this country great" as you claim.

Neither are they bullies. Nor should they be expected to depart this country as you would wish.

I personally find your attitude both repugnant to the values for which I thought this country stood and to the concepts of the religion to which you profess to adhere.

It has always been my understanding that Christians led the fight against intolerance in our society and not led the pack baying for all views but theirs to be extinguished.
