A 30-year-old man has been charged with grievous bodily harm after he allegedly stabbed another man after a day spent drinking turned sour near a popular boating and fishing spot over the weekend.
Police said the alleged attack near Moogerah Dam south west of Boonah was not random and the two men, understood to both be from overseas, knew each other.
A 24-year-old man was rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious but stable condition with a chest injury in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Paramedics responded to the incident at a private residence on Lake Moogerah Road, with critical care paramedics and the High Acuity Response Unit in attendance.
“Both were known to each other,” a Queensland Police spokeswoman said.
“They got into a verbal disagreement which resulted in one being wounded.”
The 30-year-old man is due to face Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday.
