Lockyer Valley couple wins $834,000 from Gold Lotto after buying ticket from Withcott FoodWorks

A Lockyer Valley couple won $834,000 in the weekend's Saturday Gold Lotto draw.

A couple from the Lockyer Valley says an $834,000 Lotto win means they will never have to worry about another bill, with their life now stress free after “struggling”.

The lucky winners, who did not want to be identified, were among seven division one winners in Saturday’s Gold Lotto draw.

Each division one winning entry took home $834,643.

The winning ticket was bought at Foodworks in Withcott.

The winning woman said she checked the ticket early on Sunday morning to find out it had won.

“That’s amazing,” she said.

“It’s amazing, absolutely amazing. It’s gives us a sense of security.

“One minute you’re struggling, the next minute you’re not.

“It’s incredible. It will make our life so much easier.

“I’ve been playing for such a long time. I’ve always had lots of little wins over the years, but this is something else.

“I never dreamt I’d win division one, but here we are. It is unbelievable.

“We’re shell-shocked.”

They don’t plan on spending it right away.

“We will put it in the bank for now,” the woman said.

“Eventually, we will buy ourselves a new car and maybe do some renovations.

“It will be great.”

The winning ticket was bought at FoodWorks in Withcott.

“We’re making sure everyone in our community hears this very good news,” manager Umesh Manandhar said.

“Everyone is delighted, and you can certainly feel the sense of excitement among our customers.

“A massive congratulations to the couple. We hope they really enjoy their big win.”

There were seven division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4175; three from Victoria and one each from New South Wales, Queensland, Tasmania, and Western Australia.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 254 so far this calendar year, including 65 won by Golden Casket customers.

In 2020, there were 312 division one winning in Saturday Gold Lotto entries across Australia which collectively won more than $355.13 million.
