A REDBANK Plains boy is among a trio of teenagers charged over a series of assaults on innocent people on Brisbane's northside during November and December.

Detectives from Ferny Grove Child Protection and Investigation Unit arrested and charged the three boys, aged 14, 15 and 16, following an investigation into several serious assaults.

Police will allege that in the early hours of November 8, 14 and 25, taxi cabs were called to addresses in Doorey St, Keperra by a female caller.

Upon arrival the male drivers were allegedly assaulted by teenage boys, being punched through open windows before they fled on foot.

Police will also allege that a taxi driver was punched in the face and had the driver's side window of his cab smashed by a fist, when he was called to an address in Mott Street, Gaythorne in the early hours of December 5.

A short time later a 57-year-old local man, standing outside a unit complex in Pickering Street, Gaythorne, was knocked unconscious and stomped on before having his smart phone stolen.

The man was treated at hospital for facial injuries including a broken nose and split lips from a tooth.

The taxi cab driver's sustained facial injuries including, bruising, swelling, split lips and one a broken tooth.

Police today confirmed that a 15-year-old Redbank Plains boy has been charged with two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm (relating to alleged offences committed on November 8 and 25, as well as serious assault of a person over 60 years, relating to an alleged offence committed on November 14.

The boy has been further charged with common assault and wilful damage in relation to an alleged offence committed on December 5, and robbery with violence whilst in company over a second alleged offence committed on December 5.

A 16-year-old Red Hill boy and a 14-year-old Stafford boy have also been charged with multiple counts of assault and robbery.

All three will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justices Act.
