AMMUNITION, a star shaped knife, and drugs have landed a young woman before an Ipswich court for the first time.

Making matters worse the offender Kloe Richards was involved in a crash and had unexplained bank cards belonging to another person.

Kloe Lee Elizabeth Richards, 22, from Brassall, pleaded guilty to 14 charges that include driving a motor vehicle without due care and attention on October 9 last year; three counts of being in possession of dangerous drugs; failing to dispose of used needle/syringe; possession of property used in a drug offence; possession of drug utensils; possession of a weapon; possession of explosives (ammunition); and failing to appear at court

Police officers called to a Brassall crash scene found a damaged Nissan Pulsar in the centre of Atlantic Rd in Brassall and a damaged grey Holden Commodore nearby.

Police were told she had driven on the wrong side of the road at a corner and collided with the Commodore driver despite his efforts to avoid the Pulsar.

In September 2019 she was found with 26 rounds of ammunition and a star-shaped knife, and bank cards that were not hers.

The police prosecutor said a syringe with clear liquid was analysed as methylamphetamine.

Richards had admitted to then being a user of methylamphetamine.

The prosecutor said drug use underpins her offending.

Police sought a supervised 18-month probation order as penalty.

Photos of the crash scene were tended as evidence.

Defence lawyer Amy Zanders said Richards instructs she had not used drugs since October last year, but had previously been using amphetamine daily.

Ms Zanders said Richards had since made good efforts at turning her life around.

The accident occurred after she became angry when arguing with her mother and got into her car and drove.

No explanation was given as to why she had the bullets and star shaped knife.

Magistrate Andy Cridland said it was a serious example of careless driving, and one step away from potentially being a charge of dangerous operation.

Richards was sentenced to a 12-month supervised probation order. Given her lack of prior offending no conviction was recorded.

She was disqualified from driving for three months.
