Despite some event cancellations, the Ipswich Show is continuing to go ahead “rain, hail or shine” this weekend.

On Thursday, the National Rodeo Association announced the rodeo will not be going ahead Friday night.
The other major arena events (Demolition Derby and the Monster Trucks) are still expected to go ahead at this stage, along with performances from FMX KAOS each night.
The Ipswich Show announced on Friday that the horse events would not be going ahead on Friday and Saturday, but a decision will be made at a later date about Sunday.
Ipswich Greyhound Racing Club confirmed their event for midday Saturday will still be going ahead; the dog show, however has been cancelled.
On Friday, only the smaller rides were operating for safety reasons. The rides are all expected to operate over the weekend; if necessary, they will stop operating for a short time until safe to continue.
Due to the wet weather, parking will no longer be available on the Bremer State High School oval.
Visitors are instead encouraged to park at the parking bays at Goodger Way or to catch the free shuttle bus that will be running to and from Ipswich train station to Bremer State High School.
Rides will temporarily stop at midday on Saturday as a part of a protest against insurance hikes that could force more than 7000 carnival workers out of the amusement industry.
Running from May 13-15, the show will include popular attractions each day including street food, showbags, sideshow alley, Circus Ipswich, the animal nursery, evening fireworks and more.

Gates will open 9am each day at the Ipswich Showgrounds and events will run into the evening.
