Ipswich father wins one million dollars after Gold Lotto win with Karalee Shopping Centre

The local man in his 30s was shocked to discover his incredible windfall after checking his winning ticket while out running errands.

AN Ipswich father has secured a life-changing $1 million win, which he says he will use to build a brand new shed to store spare car parts kept in the house and keep his wife happy.

The Karalee man in his 30s, who did not want to be identified, was shocked to discover his incredible windfall after checking his winning Gold Lotto ticket while out running errands.

The local father held one of the two division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 4088, which was drawn on June 21.

He purchased his winning 12-game QuickPick at Karalee News in Karalee Shopping Centre.

“Nah. No way, man. You’re kidding me, right?” he said.

“Holy crap. Wow. I’m lost for words.

“To be honest, I’m in shock.

“I don’t normally play Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto.

“I missed Saturday’s big draw because I was tied up on the weekend and didn’t get to the newsagent in time, so I just bought this Monday Lotto ticket instead.”

The man said it would be a massive boost to his young family.

“You have no idea what this means. It’s really going to help my family,” he said.

“I’m also going to build a big shed.

“We’ve got so many car parts in the house, and my wife always says she wants them out of the house.

“We’ll also be able to do some home renovations.

“I just can’t believe this.”

Karalee News owner Chris Calver said he was delighted with the news.

“We’ve sold plenty of division one winning entries over the years, and every time it gets even more exciting than the last,” he said. 

“We’re so happy. We’ve been celebrating in-store and sharing the news with all our customers.

“Congratulations to him. We hope he really enjoys his prize.”

The other division one winner came from Victoria.

In 2020, Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto created 93 millionaires across Australia.

During this time there were 101 division one winning entries, which collectively won about $100 million.
