Homes sold in mass Ipswich auction

THE Western Living Property Auctions have proven to be a significant success with Saturday's event achieving a near 50% clearance rate.

THE Western Living Property Auctions have proven to be a significant success with Saturday's event achieving a near 50% clearance rate.

The auction at the Spring Lake Hotel in Springfield Lakes, resulted in 24 of 52 properties being sold under the hammer.

Ray White Ipswich agent Trent Quinn said the final tally was well above the industry average of 35%.

"It's an absolutely outstanding result," he said.

"We're in negotiations on another couple, so I'm hopeful by the end of the week we'll have sold even more."

Mr Quinn said despite a transient crowd attending the auctions, it was hugely popular.

"The place was just chock-a-block.

"The crowd was really good, and even though people were coming and going all day, every time I had a property for sale the place was packed," Mr Quinn said.

The event was the third of the Western Living Property Auctions in which properties from Ray White franchises across the south-east go under the hammer in the one place.

Properties from Ray White franchises in Yamanto, Ipswich, Goodna, Springfield and Middle Park in the western suburbs of Brisbane were offered.

Mr Quinn said he was thrilled with the day's success in what was considered a down property market.

"The properties were marketed well and it goes to show there is a market out there at the moment."

Mr Quinn said he was hoping the auctions would be even more successful when repeated in June and October.

"The plan is to keep this going and making it bigger and better every time.

"We're really happy with this weekend's auctions, so hopefully we can build on it next time," he said.
