A 20-year-old mother has described to a court the night she watched as her boyfriend and the father of her child was stabbed to death during a failed drug deal.

Kieren Pye, 23, was murdered at Carole Park in April last year.

Four people, Redbank Plains man Wayne Lemaga, 30, Bellbird Park woman Cassandra Renee Levelle, 37, Gailes man Tupu Sauaga, 24, and Goodna man Paul Anthony Benecki, 41, appeared in court in day two of a committal hearing in Ipswich Magistrates Court today.

Each is charged with the murder of Mr Pye.

Corrective services staff lined a court room packed with friends and family of the defendants as Mr Pye's then girlfriend, Renae Grove, told the court details of how he was kicked, punched and stabbed multiple times before his head and shoulders were reversed over by a car.

The court heard the couple were travelling to a casino between 2 and 3am on April 2 with another male person who was driving Kieren's father's car.

In evidence Ms Grove said the male person drove the car to an industrial estate were he said "the people were ready to pick up".

Ms Grove said a male left a waiting vehicle and approached the driver's side window of the car she, Mr Pye and the driver were travelling in and said, "where's the stuff".

The court heard Mr Pye, who was in the front passenger seat said, "don't do it, my missus in the car and she's got nothing to do with it".

"That's when I saw the knife, I just remember a knife coming out," she said.

"A guy got in the back of the car and held my hand and told me to shoosh.

"(The driver) ran off.

"Kieren was out of the car and they were kicking and punching him and that's when a knife was coming out of him.

"I was screaming."

Ms Grove said My Pye was dragged from the vehicle and a hammer was used to break a rear window of the car.

"He was on the ground and they were punching and kicking him, he was begging them to stop," she said.

"I saw the blade go out and come back in, I only saw the blade.

"It was one of the ones you cut up meat with, it was just like a kitchen knife like the ones used to chop hoofs off pigs and stuff.

"I went to get out the car and the guy with a pony tail said don't move and I said 'f**k off, you've just killed my boyfriend'.

"They dragged Kieren behind the car and reversed, (it) ran over his head and shoulders."

She said she became aware the driver was in possession of eight 8-balls, or a total of 28g of methamphetamine on the night and he said "I've never had so much gear on me in my life".

In evidence the court heard Ms Grove fell pregnant with Mr Pye's child in September 2013, two days before Mr Pye went to jail.

Mr Pye was released from jail in December 2013 but taken back into custody nine days later and released five days prior to the birth of the child, which was later taken into care by child services.

Mr Pye was released from prison six weeks before he was murdered.

Cross examination of the balance of the Crown's seven witnesses will continue tomorrow.
