The Racehorse Hotel has undergone some cosmetic changes in the past decade, but some things never change.
The ‘horse, as it is affectionately known, has been a popular meeting place for decades, and evokes some of the city’s best memories, whether that’s an Ipswich Cup after party, or seeing a great band.
The popular hotel underwent a massive transformation from 2009 to 2011, going from a typical old Aussie pub with a pool room and pokies to the modern mecca it is today.
Prominent live bands and DJs began to regularly take to the stage, the spacious bar often filling with 500 people or more.
The Queensland Times has dived into the archives and dug up some old photos from nights out at the hotel.
