ELIZABETH Jordan has been entering the Ipswich Show for more than 40 years and she has no intention of stopping anytime soon.

Mrs Jordan, who turned 100 in January, has been entering her knitting and crocheting into the Ipswich Show since the late 1960s.

While many would think about slowing down after reaching their 100th year, Mrs Jordan would not dream of it.

She has already begun working on her entries for the 2013 Ipswich Show as well as entries into the upcoming Rosewood Show.

"I've been coming to the Ipswich Show since the late 1960s, and before that I went to the Brisbane Show," she said. "I've entered my works in every year.

"I've started already on next year's entry - you've got to start early to get it ready in time."

After 40 years at the show, Mrs Jordan said she was still getting new ideas from other people's entries.

She has become such a part of the craftworks pavilion, there is even the Elizabeth Jordan Award for Excellence handed out at each show.

This year it was won by fellow fine artist Coleen Lobwein.

The craftworks pavilion saw stronger entries this year than at recent shows with more than 400 pieces of work submitted.

After decades of attending the show, Mrs Jordan said the weekend was one of her favourite times of the year with a number of personal highlights.

"I love seeing the ring events and the floral work," she said.

"I do a bit of gardening myself so it's nice to see the effort other people put in."

Mrs Jordan has taken to giving away most of her work.

"I give a lot of my knitting away to charity," she said.

"And this way you get the pleasure of making it and the pleasure of giving it away as well."
